Health Promotion Background

• World Health Organization-European Office Healthy Promoting Schools Resolution
• Egmund Conference Agenda- The Egmund conference, held in the Netherlands in October 2002, brought together more of the world's experts on healthy promoting schools, and broadened the agenda on healthy promoting schools and programs.
• The Greece Conference on Health Promoting Schools Considered by Dr. Bo Haglund of the Karolinska Institutet of Stockholm to be the first major work in the healthy promoting schools arena, this document gives much of the substantive background of the movement.

• Youth Risk Behavior Survey (2003) Questionnaire from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - Division of Adolescent and School Health.  This tool is a student questionnaire meant for US High School Age Children, but is applicable to children and youth ages ages 14 to 18 years of age.  Some modifications are necessary to convert units of measure.  Also see the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (2003) Rationale.
• Youth Risk Behavior Survey (2001) US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - Division of Adolescent and School Health (CDC-DASH).  Results of the 2001 survey from 28 US states, statistics and associated publications.
